10,000 products in a searchable database for you to pick
and choose from. The product range in Clickbanks

hobby. All the affiliate marketer has to do is signup once
for a FRE*E account, and then start making those links.

The kicker is that it’s so simple to make a Clickbank
affiliate link. Choose your product to promote from the
Clickbank MarketPlace and Clickbanks script will give you
the opportunit*y to make your affiliate link right there and
then. A few clicks and you are ready to start your affiliate
marketing campaign. You can setup as many websites as you

There is an important caveat in that last paragraph, did

until you get it right, then work on the next. Having too
many just makes tracking them a nightmare. It’s a case of
quality over quantity, where the old axiom of throwing
enough at it until something sticks is just a waste of
time.

Here’s something not too many people take notice of, the
Clickbank marketplace itself can also help you shortcut the
whole setup process by making it easier to find products
which actually sell. By taking note of the sites position,
you get an idea of how popular it is, but there is more
information there too. You can see how well a salespage is
converting on Clickbank by looking at the gravity results.
This tells you how well the product is selling right now,
and is weighted by Clickbank according to how recent the
sales were, and how many affiliate sales are being made. We
can use this as a guide to finding a product which sells
well right now.

Looking deeper though, we have to be careful of using the
gravity as the main reason to promote a product.Just
because a product has a lower gravity doesn’t mean it
isn’t a good seller. When something is new, the seller may
have a huge launch with specially invited affiliates to make
tons of sales quickly. But after this has died down, the
product still sells, and is still a good product, but the
big push is gone. This means you can pick up your Clickbank
affiliate link and make sales of this product with less
competition. Even really low scoring clickbank products can
be worth looking into, as it may just be a case of a poorly
marketed product which you can capitalise on.

Clickbank is an ideal place to start looking for affiliate
products to promote, it’s quick, easy and you are relying
on an established company to pay you, not the seller.

the payments for the seller, so you are in safe hands all

television ads have started to include a christmas theme
already, all talk is of the impending holiday season, and
how we’re not ready for it. My wife, as organised as ever,
has already done a fair amount of present buying, me I would
have been out on Christmas Eve and cursed myself for leaving
it so late, but as she keeps reminding me, it’s only 7
weeks away now. Only? that’s almost a lifetime right?

Power Up Your Affiliate Marketing With Blogging

Blogs are a great way of making sales for an affiliate
marketing campaign. Since they appeared, blogs have all but
taken over from static websites of old, a regularly updated
blog with quality content is a veritable magnet for search
engines and visitors alike.

There are several blog scripts and services you can use as
an affiliate marketer, simplest would be to use Blogger.com
as it’s just a matter of signing up for an account and then
start posting. Our recommended blogging tool is Wordpress
installed on your own site. You should consider using
WordPress as it’s usually in the Fantastico link in your
webhosting cpanel so is very easy to install to your site
in just 3 clicks, giving you control over your own blog.
There are also plenty of themes available to change the
look of your vlog whether you use WordPress or Blogger.
It’s worth looking for a theme which ties in with your
affiliate products you will be advertising.

As an affiliate marketer, you have to love blogs for their
ease of updating, you can just copy and paste new content
into the form, hit submit and a new page appears in
seconds, all nicely formatted, linked and if you do it
right categorised. Adding blog content regularly is a lot
simpler than updating a static html website, and recoding
all the links manually to add your new page.Just type or
copy and paste your text, and click publish and it’s all
done for you.

But there’s more to it than the simple adition of content
to your blog, you can setup an affiliate product link in
the main site template, and that will be shown on every
page you create. As soon as you post you have effectively
created another link to your affiliate product and another
way for people to be drawn to the site to find it. If you
don’t feel like digging around the code to add your
affiliate link, you can always add it each time you post
(or a different affiliate product each time). Even better,
with the addition of some simple to install plugins your
blog can become a sales powerhouse, and even add Adsense
for a second source of income.

Even better for us affiliate marketers these plugins can be
found for fre*e online ready to download and install to your
blog. If you are using WordPress, then a plugin called “WP
Text Link Ads” is our FRE*E plugin of choice. Google for it,
install it following the instructions and then add keywords
and your affiliate links to associate with them. Every time
you post, your chosen keywords will become links to your
affiliate products automatically. Set it up with several
affiliate programs and as your blog traffic increases so
will your bottom line.

So you have your blog set up, and start posting, how do you
get the traffic flowing and get your affiliate links out
there?

In my own experience, I have found that “Pinging” your
blog posts very quickly starts the traffic flowing. Pinging
is just the term for letting other sites know your blog is
being updated. For ease and simplicity, I recommend using
Pingoat.com where you can put in your details of your blog
after you post, choose the services to ping, and click go.
Here’s the kicker, afterwards Pingoat will give you the
option to bookmark the url so you can ping your site by
using the pingoat link in your favourites. You could
automate this by adding this (very long) url to the
autoping section of your blog settings, but you’ll have to
work that out for yourself.

Once you start blogging and pinging your posts, the search
engines will find your blog, and as we stated from the
start search engines love blogs especially if they are
being updated regularly. This is great for your affiliate
marketing campaign as search engines bring the best kind of
traffic, FRE*E. Hopefully some of the visitors from this FRE*E
traffic source will be interested enough to click on your
affiliate links and bu*y the products you are promoting.

This is just the start though. If you learn all you can
about blogging, and keep adding relevant and high quality
posts to your blog, then your affiliate marketing campaigns
can become your chief source of income. Blogging and
affiliate marketing really are a great pair to get to know.

How To Use “Viral Marketing” To Generate More Traffic

I am talking about Viral Marketing. Viral marketing is
key to your business. It is a simple and effective
tool you can use to drive traffic to your site,
without spending thousands of dollars implementing
more expensive marketing tools.

How can you take advantage of viral marketing?

The easiest to make your visitors tell their friends
and relatives about your site is by implementing a
“tell-a-frien*d” script.

If done correctly, a “tell-a-frien*d” script is one of
the most powerful traffic-generation strategies you’ll
ever use. And it’s FRE*E!

Here’s how it worksÃ¢â‚¬Â¦

You ask your visitors to enter the name and e-mail
address of friends and relatives they think will be
interested in your site. Then, the script

the most visitors to his site in that week would get a

that very few people use.

But what I want you to do is to create an e-book for
your AFFILIATES to give away to their lists.

Some Do’s and Dont’s For Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing has to be one of the quickest, and
easiest ways of making money online. As an affiliate
marketer, you don’t need to create products, you will be
selling other peoples. You don’t need to hold any
inventory, you don’t need to accept payments, and you
don’t need to build super sales pages, in fact almost all
of the work has been done for you. As an affiliate
marketer, all you need to do is bring customers to your
chosen affiliate program. That said, before you rush in and
become an affiliate marketer, here are some do’s and
don’ts to save you wasting time, effort and money.

Firstly, listen up becuase this is important, and is
probably the number one reason most people give up on
affiliate marketing. A common mistake people make with
their website for affiliate marketing is using webpage to
promote loads of stuff at once, the worst examples are the
“banner Farms” where someone uses one page and adds
banners and links to all their affiliate programs with no
content. It won’t bring visitors, and any who do arrive
will disappear almost immediately.

To put it another way, as simple as it is to get started,
don’t join loads of companies at once and start promoting
everything. All you will do is waste time trying to promote
all of them at once, and not do a good job of promoting any
of them. The end result is invariably no sales at all. Pick
one or two products, preferably ones which you have used,
read or know something about, and start with those. Once
you have a succesful campaign you can add others, but one
at a time.

Here’s some advice for picking an affiliate program to
market, find something you’re interested in and research a
product in that niche you can sell as an affiliate. It will
be much easier for you to get excited, and show enthusiasm
for a product if you have an interest in it to start with.
Sure it’s possible to promote anything, but in starting
off, it’s easier for you to write about a subject you have
a passion for.

Here’s why you need a passion for your product to sell it
well, you can use a website of your own to send potential
buyers to, and presell them with a review of the product,
not a sales page, a review. While your potential customer
is there, capture some details, an email address and name
at least, into an autoresponder series. By getting these
details, and building a list of customers interested in
this product, you have the possibility of sending them
emails containing your affiliate link so they see the
product more than once. It doesn’t have to be difficult or
costly to setup either, there are plenty of FREE
autoresponders you can use (google for free autoresponder)
and this is where your passion for your niche will help
again, as you can write a short course of emails to preload
into the autoresponder, so you can set it up and forget it.

But the real benefit of capturing the details of your
visitors, and sending them emails is that you get the
opportunity to sell to them again and again. If you find
other products in the future which relate to the original
one you were promoting, you can send one or two emails to
your list, knowing they are interested in this second,
third or whatever product and are more likely to buy.
We’re not talking about badgering the life out of your
subscribers, as they will then unsubscribe, but helping
them find products which may be of help, or value to them
in their lives.

Affiliate marketing isn’t rocket science, but learning a
few basics before you jump in can make a big difference.
Hopefully we have given you a basis to work from, so you
can get started in affiliate marketing for yourself, and
avoid some of the mistakes which could easily put you off.

How To Get Your Customers To Fall In Love With Your Products And Services

My hair grows so damn fast. I have to get a hair cut every
3 weeks. Every time I need a haircut I go to Peter in
downtown, Vancouver.

You knowÃ¢â‚¬Â¦ Peter actually worked in New York 10 years ago. I
guess you could say he earned his chops in New York. And
he’s cut hair for many celebrities, including Jim Carrey,
etc.

Then he moved to Vancouver and opened his own salon.

Well, if Pete is good enough for Jim Carrey then he’s good
enough for Dan Lok.

I’ve been going there for 8 years now.

Talk about customer loyalty!

YeahÃ¢â‚¬Â¦ so I’m sure you are asking why am I so damn loyal?
Right?

What makes Pete different than the other hairdressers?
Why do I go back to him again and again?

Well I’ll tell you. Pete works at it. He builds loyal
customers in each interaction and builds them into every
haircut he produces. He didn’t attract the stars simply
because he cuts hair well (though he does). He also offers
exceptional customer service.

And I have to tell you, even if Pete’s haircutting ability
wasn’t 110%, I’d probably still go back. Why?
Customer service. Commitment. Quality.

So ask yourself, how do YOU build loyal customers?

The best way to build loyal customers is by using the
loyalty ladder concept. I want you to picture an ordinary
ladder.

Now consider each rung of the ladder. Each “rung” is a
“stage” of loyalty a customer may have. There are many
different stages of loyalty customers demonstrate at each
rung of the ladder:

Raving Fan

Ã‚Â Devotee

Ã‚Â Member

Ã‚Â Customer

Ã‚Â Shopper

Ã‚Â Prospect

Ã‚Â Suspect

Let’s describe each of these in more detail.

Suspect
The suspect is the lowest rung on your ladder, when a
customer starts out on your loyalty ladder. This is when
customer’s are at the very bottom of your ladder. These
are people who may or may not want or need what it is you
sell. They may not have any money. They are simply people
who are not buying.

Prospect
Prospects are suspects who have taken some sort of action
like subscribing to your newsletter, giving you their email
addresses or those who have asked you for some sort of FREE
information. They are people who may turn into active
customers, but aren’t there yet.

Customer
A customer is anyone who has actually spent money with you.
You have to differentiate between your prospects and your
customers. This is one of the reasons it is so damn
important you segment your lists. You don’t want to have
everyone on ONE BIG list.

At the very least, you should have a prospect list and
customer list. You should treat your prospects and
customers very differently. You should always give your
customers more attention. Give them a better deal than
everyone else. Why? They are already paying you for your
products and services. Prospects are important, but
customers are even more important.

Member
A member is someone who buys from you more than once. These
are customers that now trust you. They feel they belong with
you in some way. Now listen up. Customers who make two
purchases are 10 times more likely to make more than
someone who makes only one purchase with you. So anyone who
is a member deserves special attention, because if they buy
twice, they are likely to buy again.

Devotee
What’s the difference between a devotee and a member?
A devotee is someone who not only buys from you, but tells
other people about you. They send you referrals. They
promote you actively. They are happy to be your FREE sales
force because they get so much value from you.

Raving Fan
The next stage in the ladder is Raving Fans. Usually only
1% to 5% of your customers become Raving Fans. They’re one
of your most valuable assets. They pretty much own
everything you have. And, whatever new products and service
you come up with, they will buy without blinking an eye.

The Raving Fan will stick with you for years as long as you
don’t screw up in a major way.

There’s a very strong trust and bond with you and the
Raving Fans. They trust you 100%. They want to see you
succeed. They want to see you do well. If a devotee is
someone who sells for you, a Raving Fan is someone who
can’t STOP selling for you. Raving Fans tell everyone
about how fantastic you are. They talk about your company.
They love you.

These days it’s more expensive than ever to get a new
customer. Most businesses in fact are acquiring their
customers at a loss or break-even point. That means you
have to get your customers to come back to you and buy
again and again.

Why? That customer isn’t simply profitable to you. They
are your most important resource. What you want, what you
need is as many raving fans as you can get.

You will succeed when you sort your prospects from
suspects, move people up from prospects to customers, from
customers to raving fans.

You need to have a marketing system that automatically
moves people up the loyalty ladder as quickly as humanly
possible.

Very soon, it’ll be like me and Pete. I am one of Pete’s
Raving Fans. I send him clients. I sell FOR him without him
asking me to it. I write about him in my
article! I only go to him and nobody else. And I am
thrilled to show up every month, 12 times a year to give
him money. And I’ll keep going to him unless he retires
from the business. That could be another 10 to 20 years.

make more sales, obviously you shouldn’t give them the

Why You Aren’t Making The Money You Want To On The Internet And What To Do About It!

The most common problem I hear from people is they
aren’t making the kind of money they want to make with
their Internet business. They don’t know what the
problem is and they want me to help.

I’ll tell you what the problem is. Most of these
people are what I like to call opportunit*y seekers.
These are people that have too many sites and don’t
spend any time focusing on ONE business. They may have
20 or 30 websites, with each site only breaking even
or making a few hundred dollars every month.

Most opportunit*y seekers are not making the money they
want or achieving their financial goals. Why?

They are making a common mistake. They have too many
sites, too many interests. This prevents them from
focusing their efforts and creating the six figure
income they dream of.

Focus Is The Key To Long-Term Success

If you want to succeed on the Internet, you are much
better-off staying focused. That means starting off
with one site or idea and perfecting it before moving
on to the next Internet adventure. Far too many people
have a get rich quick mind-set. In fact, I’d say
almost all opportunit*y seekers have this mind-set.

They jump from one program to another hoping one of
them will lead to success.

opportunit*y seekers are always the first to jump on
the next big moneymaking bandwagon. It may be one
thing one month, another the
next month.

They may try to concentrate on affiliate marketing then
switch dramatically to e-book marketing the next.

Whatever seems to be working for others they jump into
with wild abandon, without considering their true
talents, abilities and interests.

These people are looking for some easy way to make
money. They think they can make money with Google
AdSense or just a web page, or even with a multilevel
marketing program. This is NOT how an entrepreneur
thinks! However, this is exactly how an opportunist
thinks.

They always are looking for shortcuts, and then wonder
why it isn’t working.

It isn’t working because you have no focus. You must
have focus. You must think like an entrepreneur. Focus
is one of the most vital aspects of your success. My
advice to these newbies is shut down 29 of your sites
and focus on one site, the one that best represents
your interests.

Optimize it. Work on refining it. Refine your sales
process and your back end on this single site and make
it successful BEFORE you move on to the next site.

Yes, I have many sites. But I am Dan Lok. You’re not
there yet. Perfect your one site. THEN you can think
about moving on to other moneymaking ventures.

Horizontal Vs. Vertical Business

Many people have what I call a horizontal business. A
horizontal business has many sites in many different
niches, like hobby niches.

People who own horizontal businesses have 20 or more
separate business ventures. I recommend having a
vertical business instead. A vertical business is a
business that has depth and focus.

Having a vertical business means if you have a product
in a particular niche, like stock trading, focus on
selling products related to that and that only. Put
all your eggs in one basket and create a funnel
effect. This way you’ll have one group of customers
and you can become a big fish in
a small pond.

You’ll have all your eggs in one place yesÃ¢â‚¬Â¦ but you’ll
become an expert egg layer and watch all your eggs
hatch with great success.

Make sense?

What is the problem with a horizontal business? You
aren’t specialized.

It’s almost impossible to make a six-figure income
with this kind of business because you don’t spend
enough time on any ONE business.

When you have a vertical business, you have fine-tuned
your business so well competitors have a hard time
keeping up with you. People can’t compete. You also
build a strong client base with satisfied customers.

Think Like An Entrepreneur

So, the biggest problem people have is they are
opportunit*y seekers.

The key is thinking like a true Internet entrepreneur.
Don’t jump on the trend bandwagon. Don’t ask what the
shortcuts are. An entrepreneur has a long-term vision.
You have to have a one-year, five year and ten year
vision. Find out what you want your business to look
like in the long-term.

Ask yourself, What do I want to accomplish ultimately?
Then decide whether your activities fit with your
goals. Stop jumping from one program to another. Focus
on one program, one site, and one great idea. This is
what you have to do if you want to make six figures.
It has nothing to do with your knowledge, skill set
experience etc. It has to do more with your focus.

Sit down. Think about it.

Stop jumping from one program to another and stop
getting sucked into false moneymaking schemes. Find
out what your goals are, what you want to accomplish.

This is a far superior approach. Yes, it takes a lot
of energy. But its worth it. In the long-term it’s
much less tiring than diversifying your business.

Once you are an expert in your industry or niche, THEN
you can think about diversifying your business.

Service
At one time in my life, I thought I had a handle on the
meaning of this word “service:” “The act of doing things
for other people.” Then I learned these terms:

Internal Revenue Service
Telephone Service
Civil Service
City/County Public Service
Customer Service
Service Stations

And I become confused about the word “Service.” This is
not what I thought “service” meant Then, today, I
overheard two farmers talking and one said he had hired a

Affiliate Project X Just Another Waste Of Virtual Paper?

Affiliate Project X was launched right in the middle of two of the years biggest launches, and got a little lost in among them. When I first saw ads for it, I immediately remembered all the other affiliate training ebooks I have clogging my hard drive, and dismissed it. A few ads later, and I actually went to the Affiliate Project X site, a bit nonplussed by the sales page I moved on without buying.

Well I can’t remember how many times I was “tricked” into going back to the sales page for Affiliate Project X (APX) by marketers using link cloakers, changing the ads, and other sales methods, but return I did. Several times still without buying, I mean we’ve all seen these ebooks, and they are just the same rehashed cr*p telling us not quite enough to make us dangerous to the writer. I’d guess you like me have a hard drive full of this digital detritus, and I didn’t need another waste of 50 virtual sheets of paper for $77.

I recall looking deeper at the sales page after someone pointed out the techniques used (another marketing method we have become almost immune to, but it does pique the interest to take a look again right?) to sell Affiliate Project X. Yep the usual suspects, bullet points, build a picture of the problem affiliate marketers face, make it seem worse, add in power words, and the old faithful “Secrets They Don’t Want You To Know”. Come on this page even has a bloody “buy now before the price increases” pressure sell. Although I have to admit, at the time the lowest price was $77, and it did rise to $97, and I do expect it’ll hit the $197 one day. But still I didn’t buy.

I looked at the other ebooks I had on affiliate marketing, yep should be in the digital dustbin, waste of virtual paper, so why spend the money on Affiliate Project X right?

But I saw more and more reviews from people who bought it, and they liked it. So I went to look for the guarantee, hey if I was buying some more digital tripe, this time I was going to use the money back guarantee. And there it was, Chris promises you will make money within 30 days using the methods in Affiliate Project X but gives you 8 weeks to ask for your money back. Me I was buying, and for the first time I was willing to give these gurus the bullet, and ask for my money back when it didn’t contain anything new.

I’d heard it was only fifty pages, so that wasn’t a shock. I started reading, and the first few pages were the usual “What is an affiliate program?” “How do you make money as an affiliate?” B O R I N G let’s get ready to get our money back pronto, just read a little more. Adwords blah blah BLAH. Chris, get ready to login to Clickbank and return my money. But I didn’t get my money back, wanna know why?

Chris is one low down dirty son of a bitch.

Affiliate Project X is all it claims to be. Once I got a little further into the Adwords section, I can’t in good faith ask for my money back. But don’t think well of Chris yet, there are other reasons to call Chris a low down dirty son of a bitch, especially if you are one of the “Super Affiliates” whose secrets he is revealing, and whose livelihoods he is threatening. APX contains some methods which you may think are a bit underhand, like copying other successful affiliates, but how to do it right. Other low down tricks include “spying”, “annihilating the competition” and much more. Although the techniques sound like they will get you condemned to prison, or if not then the deepest pits of hell come judgement day, but they are all legal, above board, and above all profitable methods used by successful affilate marketers daily. They are going to call Chris a lot worse names.

But Affiliate Project X is only 50 (fifty) pages, some might say, but for me that turned out to be a bonus. Like you, I don’t have a lot of time, as I am still working full time, so fifty pages isn’t a lot to read. Here’s the kicker though, those 50 pages are packed with information (at least after the first few “what is an affiliate program style introductory pages). Not that filler rubbish from the other books we have bought, genuine info. I can’t see too many superfluous words in Affiliate Project X, except maybe the first page or so, of explanations of affiliate marketing, if you didn’t know about affiliate marketing, you wouldn’t know you wanted APX anyway right?

So back to the question this poses, Affiliate Project X Just Another Waste Of Virtual Paper?

Sorry to say it, but no. Affiliate Project X is an informative, step by step guide to actually making money as an affiliate marketer. Even at the current price of $97 I would buy Affiliate Project X knowing what I now know about the information it contains.

6 Tips On Using Templates For Your Adsense Or Business Websites

Website templates are easily obtainable online, ranging
from simple, to technological wonders packed with clever
scripts and codes to add functionality, priced from FREE to
download, to very expensive, but you have a wide choice of
designs available at all price and technological levels.
Using a template can significantly speed up the building of
a website, and can also give you a professional look for
your site without the expense of hiring a designer. Using
website templates can also be a bit of a minefield in a
number of areas, including copyright, skill level, and
search engine placement. So what do you need to know to use
predesigned templates for your next website project?

1. What rights do you have with the templates?

As with any piece of work, designers can give you a
multitude of rights, allowing you various levels of freedom
to use the templates you buy or download. It’s important to
read the terms, and / or clarify your rights with the
supplier of the template. Some will allow you to change the
template as much as you like and may include source files
for any graphics so you can customise those too, while
others will limit you to using the template as is, and only
changing the text to your own. There are many levels in
between too, you may be allowed to change the copyright
notice at the bottom, or may be required to keep it there
pointing back to the suppliers website, or there maybe some
other small link back required for you to use the template.
So check your rights.

2. Where can the template be used?

You need to check this as well as part of your rights. Some
templates you download, and even some you buy will restrict
you to non commercial use. This would mean you can’t use
the template on a business site. Using a non commercial
template as a basis for an Adsense site could be a legal
grey area, as you are creating a site purely to make money,
so it could be construed as commercial use. Other
restrictions may mean you can only use the template on one
site, or domain, and you’d need a license for each site
you use the template on. Check the usage policy before you
buy or use a template.

3. Experience level.

What is your own experience level of web design? You are
going to need to know enough to edit the templates main
areas to add your content. This may involve a little tweak
here and there to make it fit your template, so you will
need to ensure your knowledge covers the technologies the
template uses. It’s not all HTML either. Your chosen
template may include CSS (Cascading Style Sheets),
Javascript functions, Area Maps for navigation, and any
number of other additional components. Find out first what
you will need to know, and decide if you know it already,
are willing to learn or are going to need to pay extra to
get it modified by someone else.

4. Do you have the right tools to edit the template?

If a template has any special code, or tricks included,
will your editor of choice be able to cope with them? Not
all editors are created equal, and some will mess up code
they don’t recognise, and stop the site from working
altogether. You may not always find this out until after
you have uploaded it. Obviously if you are using a text
editor like notepad, and doing it yourself you should
understand what you are doing before changing anything. If
you are using a wysiwyg html editor, like Frontpage,
Dreamweaver or any of the FREE utilities like NVU then you
need to make sure it won’t mess up the underlying code as
you add your content, and personalise the template for your
site. Checking up front that you have the required tools may
save you extra wasted time and money later.

5. Room for expansion.

Right now you have an idea for a site you want to create,
and the template you use is perfect, but what about the
future. If you want to add extra sections, pages or
content, will it be able to expand to compensate for it?
You need to take into account navigation links, if you will
need to add extra links to new sections, can you personally

room for them especially if an image is used with an area
map as navigation. It’s not going to be easy as you never
know what the future holds, but believe me when I say your
website is very likely to expand and grow, in fact it will
need to if it’s to do you any long term good.

6. What will it be used for?

Do you intend to use a template for a straight html
website, Wordpress blog, forum, or any other kind of site?
A straight html template will need a lot of work to convert
it for use on a wordpress blog, as they use tags to build
the site as they go, unlike a static html website. They
also require the template to be broken down into header,
footer and display elements with the necessary code for
menus etc. in the right place. It’s not easy, and forums
use the same methods. It’s easier to get a template
(called themes on interactive sites like blogs and forums)
which is designed for the purpose, than adapt one, unless
you are experienced in PHP and html and most likely CSS
too!

These are just some things you may wish to consider before
using a template for your first (or next) website. It could
save you a lot of wasted time in the long run for a few
minutes checking beforehand. Templates are a great shortcut
to a professional looking site and now you know what to look
for to make sure you don’t regret it later.

Believe it or not, most of the work force worldwide
considers working from home at one time or another.
Unfortunately, most don’t have any idea concerning what
type of work they would or could actually do from home, and
even those who do know what they would like to do don’t
have the faintest notion as to how to get started.

The mind block concerning what one might do from home
exists for one of two reasons. First, one might not have
any idea as to what type of work could be done from home.
The other potential mind block is that a person has so many
ideas that they can’t determine which idea is the most
viable.

To come up with a viable idea for a home business, begin by
realizing that there are two choices: a regular at home
business or an online business. Sometimes, a regular at
home business is operated both online and offline, which
online businesses are usually just operated online, but may
also be marketed offline.

Another option to consider is a work at home job, as
opposed to a business that you own. In this instance, you
actually are employed by a company, and you receive a
paycheck from that company for work that you do from your
home. Unfortunately, finding a legitimate work from home
job is difficult, but not impossible.

Next, determine the type of work at home business you would
like to start. You can sell your own product, sell someone
else’s product, sell your own services, or possibly sell
someone else’s services. This is the hardest part of the
decision making process when it comes to working from home.
It’s never a good idea to try to sell something that you
have no interest in - even if it is a service that you
might excel at. The fact is that if you hate what you do,
you won’t be willing to do it for years on end. Make a
list of your interests, and include any special skills that
you may have. Do not include anything that does not interest
you.

From your list, determine what you are most passionate
about - this is a market that you want to explore! Once you
know your interest area, determine whether you can create a
product in that market, or if you can find other people’s
products or services in that arena to sell for a
commission. If you plan to have an offline business, you
can become a distributor for many types of products. If you
plan to have an online business, you can become an affiliate
for even more products.

An affiliate is much like a distributor, except that
affiliates never handle the product, where distributors
most likely are required to purchase products from the
parent company before they can resell them. The important
thing to realize is that now you have moved from
‘working’ at home to owning a home business of your own -
even if you are selling someone else’s product or service!

How You Can Monetize Your Website Without Using Adsense

Adsense is great. No doubting that, as a webmaster I have
learned to love the money I get from Google on a regular
basis. That said, it’s not the only way to monetize your
website, in fact there are other less intrusive ways to get
ads on your site which may just fit better with your own
style than trying to fit in one of Googles preset ad
Blocks.

There are plenty of choices too for monetizing your site,
from direct copies of Googles blocks, to hotlinking
specific words within your sites content. It doesn’t
matter if you use “proper” html pages, or a blog to add
your content, there are solutions to earn you money from
your writing.

So what is available?

Starting with Adsense style ad Blocks, you can host a
script on your own site, and display Adsense style blocks
containing links to ClickBank products containing your CB
ID. One of the easiest to install is called “CB ADS
Genie” (

) which you can add to your site and then just like Googles
Adsense, you add a small piece of code where you want the
ad to appear.
You can also use Amasense Ads (
http://amasenseads.com/thankyou/?vip=561 )which use Adsense
style Adblocks to promote Amazon Products. You can also use
this as an alternative url in Adsense to show Amasense ads
instead of the public service ads Google puts up when it
can’t match an ad to your site, to save you losing money
on those displays.
Be aware that you cannot use any ads which resemble Google
Adsense blocks on the same page as Adsense, so it’s one or
the other, not both.

Alternatives to Adsense style blocks are also worth a look,
especially as they can be added to your site alongside
Adsense without getting your account closed by Google.
One of the better known ones is Chitika Mini Malls (
https://chitika.com/mm_overview.php?refid=titchmarsh )which
displays a neat looking advert using keywords you select for
the page. The ads have a small picture, a short description,
and a search function all in one neat little box.

Text links are also useful, and there are some great ad
networks which will give you a code to insert into your
page to turn words into paying links related to the word.
Konterra ad network has been around long enough to be able
to recommend it, you insert a small piece of code into your
page, and it will turn certain keywords into links which you
get paid for clicks on.
A new but up and coming ad network is ContAds (
http://www.contads.com/ref.php/190 )ContAds uses the
reliability and huge variety of Clickbank to deliver ads
related to keywords. You have to install a small script on
your website once, but then it’s a matter of placing some
code snippets around your content page to start with and a
small piece of code at the end of any page you want the ads
to appear on. It will do the rest for you to start earning.
You will need a ClickBank ID for this to work though.
Contads also offers a selection of videos to show you how
to get started, and even how to add this system to your
Wordpress blog to monetize that.

So now you are acquainted with the Adsense alternatives,
isn’t it about time you monetized your websites in other
ways too?
Diversify your ads, and see what works best for your site.
